Post-emergent sedge herbicide

Cylonkill 2G

  • Safe to all cool- and warm-season turfs

  • Eradicate purple & yellow nutsedge, any size, in one shot

The original product in the Cylonkill line-up, but the latest breakthrough in the sedge control market: Cylonkill 2G remains the gold standard in controlling the most popular types of sedges, including purple and yellow nutsedge.

Many available sedge products, such as Celero®, Certainty®, Dismiss South®, Katana®, Monument® and Tribute TOTAL®, fall short due to being unsafe to both season turfs and unreliable results. These were overtaken by Sedgehammer, the leader in sedge control since 1994 – at least until now.

While turf safety profiles of the two are comparable, Cylonkill 2G outperforms Sedgehammer’s efficacy in two fronts: (1) Cylonkill 2G kills sedges at any size while Sedgehammer limits to only 3-8 leaf-sized sedges; (2) Cylonkill 2G requires only one treatment whereas Sedgehammer needs 2-4 treatments.

Cylonkill simply outperforms every other sedge product on the market. The rest is history, and so are they.

mechanism

Inhibit biosynthesis of weeds’ essential amino acids to stop cell division and weed growth
Attack and destroy lipids and protein membranes of weeds
Highly systemic, absorbed by weed roots and leaf surfaces

features

Fast-acting: poisoned in 1-2 days, total kill in 14-28 days
Safe to both warm-season and cool-season turfgrasses

symptomology

  • Purple nutsedge and yellow nutsedges leaves turn yellow 1-2 days after treatment, may further develop a purplish/reddish color in the next 5-10 days, and become necrotic and dried out in 14-21 days. By 21-28 days, tuber interiors have browned, indicating decay. Once tubers have decayed, sedges are unable to recover and are thus eradicated.

  • May cause temporary yellowing to certain zoysia cultivars, with full turf recovery in 10-14 days.
